Hospital Stay

On Monday the 23rd, Ella woke up with a cough, that she caught from Tyler and Gabby. I was just going to wait it out and see if it would go away on its own but it never seemed to. She started to get lethargic and her cough seemed to be getting worse. So I finally took her in to see the doctor Saturday morning thinking that they would just give me some medicine for her and send us on our way. Well, that wasn't so. They checked her oxygen levels and saw that they were a teeny-tiny bit low so they did a breath treatment. After that they checked her again and found that her oxygen level had gone down to 84, which isn't good. They also found that she had an ear infection. So, we got sent to the Jordan Valley hospital so that she could be monitered constantly and put on oxygen. We arrived there at noon and thought that if we did have to stay over night we would for sure be able to go home Sunday morning. Well, we were wrong. They slowly started taking her off of the oxygen and after just a minute or so her levels would drop so she had to go right back on it. We did that for all of Sunday and Monday. Finally this morning they took off everything and she was finally staying up to a better number. Good thing, because I couldn't take anymore of it. We found out that she has Bronchiolitis which is a cold to any body else but a lung infection to a baby like Ella. And there is nothing you can do for it but wait it out. Now we are home after 4 days with some amoxicilin for her ear infection and a humidifier at night. She was such a good sport through the whole thing. She didn't like the oxygen tubes at first and tried to pull them out but she finally got used to them when she realized they weren't going anywhere. But don't worry, she is doing wonderfully and, as always, has a beautiful smile to warm up my heart.
