Utah Part 2: Minnetonka Cave

While we were up at Bear Lake we made a trip up to Minnetonka Cave (which is actually in Idaho.) This is the second time we have been there, but this time all of our family was there and the girls were older and able to enjoy it more. When our tour time came up our guide told us to make our way to the mouth of the cave. When Kate heard that she got really scared. She kept saying "I don't want to go in the mouth. It is a really cool cave but the pictures don't do it justice. It stays a chilly 40 degrees all year long.

Seriously, this child is crazy and we love her like crazy.

The cave has 888 stairs total. No, that is not a mistype. 444 down and then those 444 back up. They are not all right together but there are 78 stairs that are. Going down those 78 are not so bad. When you go down they call it the devils office I believe. The above picture is looking back up those stairs. When you go back up those stairs you are walking up the stairway to heaven walking toward the light. Those are killer.

Our family at the end of the tour before you turn back around. This room is called the Wedding room. This is the point where they turn out the lights. Such a weird feeling.

This is why it is called the Wedding room. That is the groom on the ground and coming down from the ceiling is the bride. On the left is the guest and the organ pipes.

It's pretty funny the things they come up with.

This is the only thing that you can touch, because over the years it has died from so many people touching it.

If you are ever up ate Bear Lake and want to try something new I suggest going to Minnetonka Cave. It is really fun. The girls loved it.
